FROM THE HUMBLE POOL SHOE TO SWIMWEAR FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Established in 2004, COEGA Sunwear was launched with the COEGA Pool Shoes when our founder Maureen Hall noticed a need for Sunwear for the family in the Dubai market. Loving to sew, Maureen took it upon herself to create swimwear for herself and her children. We started with selling to just one retail outlet and now COEGA is available in more than 75 leading and reputed retailers and 13 E-commerce platforms across the GCC. It all began with the unique pool shoe and has grown into protective sun wear for the whole family. Our swimwear provides UV protection but also serves a niche market by offering higher coverage items for those customers who choose to wear more modest swimwear.
HOME-GROWN
COEGA Sunwear is home-grown in the UAE and all design, manufacturing and distribution is based in Jebel Ali, Dubai. Manufacturing in Dubai allows for short lead times and flexible logistics, owing to its strategic geographic positioning between the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
QUALITY AND SUN-PROTECTION
All of our swimwear is made from high quality fabric, especially imported from Europe. The fabric is certified as UV 50+ by the Australian government and can withstand the chlorine, salt and sun. In addition to this, COEGA Sunwear has a fine tuned in-house quality control process, with a highly experienced team monitoring the production and ensuring the required quality standards are maintained.
SUSTAINABILITY
COEGA Sunwear believes in making swimwear with durability and longevity thus promoting sustainable fashion. We source majority of our fabrics from Europe, specifically Italy and Spain. We try to reduce our carbon footprint by executing majority of the fabric printing in Dubai. We are a paperless company, recycle anything we can, donate old stock to local charities rather than a landfill and our local manufacturing cuts down on transport and fuel consumption. 
Finally, a vast portion of our collection is made utilizing the ECONYL® yarn which is made by from pre and post-industrial waste including fishing nets, by regenerating into a nylon yarn.
GIVING BACK
As the COEGA brand products promote and support healthy lifestyles, COEGA is the proud sponsor of several local sports groups and swim competitions. One of our most successful community initiatives is the ‘Drop Your Shorts For Good’ campaign. This charitable endeavor aims to distribute gently used or new swim wear to local low-income workers across Dubai. With the support of Helping Hands, a local charity organization, thousands of swimwear garments have been collected and distributed since the campaign’s launch in 2011.
